The Dermatology Board Exam consists of 200 multiple-choice items and is administered over a four-hour session. In the United States, there are an estimated 9,600 dermatologists and 7,800 dermatology practices. In 2021, there were 541 new dermatologists certified by the American Board of Dermatologists.
